Anime HRT is a video essay that explores the representation of trans identity in Japanese pop culture and negotiates the feminist potential and visibility of trans women in anime in an intuitive, autobiographical way. The video material was mainly filmed on a trip to Japan in October 2018 in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Miyajima.
